Biography
I was born on 17th October 1954 in Šibenik where I finished primary and high school. I graduated from the University of Law in Zagreb with a degree in social law.
I have 27 years of working experience, 25 of which I spent working in the Centre for social welfare in Šibenik. For 11 years I was a CEO, or to be more precise, manager of the Centre and the head of a regional refugee centre in times of hardship, during war and post-war years.
I was awarded the Order of Croatian Danica with figure of Katarina Zrinska medal and the Certificate of participation in the Homeland War 1990-1992 by president Franjo Tuđman in recognition of my merits in the field of social welfare and for the promotion of moral values.
From 2002 to the beginning of 2004 I worked as the Head of the Regional Refugee Centre in Knin.
At the beginning of 2004 I (Government of the Republic of Croatia) was elected Assistant Minister of family, homeland war veterans and intergenerational solidarity.
I have been a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) from 1990 and held two terms in the City Council . In the regular election in 2001, when HDZ won the majority of mandates (10), I was one of their candidates. Although we won, the circumstances at the time did not allow us to take over local government.
On the premature elections for Šibenik City Council in April 2005 as HDZ candidate I won and became the mayor of Šibenik. I am also president of “Katarina Zrinski County Women Association”. I am married and a mother of two.
