Awards and acknowledgments
City Council decides on granting the City public acknowledgments. Acknowledgments are awarded on City Council's ceremonial assembly held on the occasion of the Day of City of Šibenik, on 29 th September. The City Council's president or the appointed councillor gives them .

The award is given to Croatian and foreign citizens for:
- Exceptional business results and incentives aimed at the economic prosperity of the area
- Remarkable achievement in science and scientific research
- Remarkable achievement in arts and culture
- Remarkable achievement in educational and pedagogical work, in sports, health and social care, and humane acts
- Remarkable citizen bravery.
The award cannot be given to the state’s high-ranking officials during their mandates. Each year there can only be one Lifetime Achievement Award. |

| - is given for the extraordinary achievements of great relevance to the City of Šibenik concerning various areas of work and creativity in the previous year. The award is given to the citizens of Šibenik and their associations, local communities, institutions, companies and other legal entities. Up to 4 awards can be given per year. |

| - is given to the citizens of Šibenik and other people working in Šibenik area,as well as to citizens’ associations, firms, institutions, and other legal entities on their anniversaries, on the Day of the City of Šibenik or on other special occasions. The award is given as a token of appreciation for the general improvement of democracy, human progress and successful and valuable cooperation with the City of Šibenik. |

| -is given to the citizens of Šibenik, as well as to other Croatian and foreign citizens, friendly cities, international organizations as well as to organizations and institutions in other countries, as a token of appreciation for general development of democracy, progress of humankind and successful and valuable cooperation with the City of Šibenik. |

| Title of the Honorary Citizen can be given to a Croatian or foreign citizen who, by their actions, contributed significantly to the promotion, importance and reputation of the City of Šibenik, as well as helped in building and strengthening relations between Šibenik and other cities, nations and states, developing democracy, peace in the world and contributing to general advancement of humankind. The title cannot be given to a resident of Šibenik. |
